Iceline – Twin lakes linkup

I was out for a run on the unusually quiet iceline trail yesterday.  The “gem” of Yoho National Park is often crawling with tourists but yesterday I had the pleasure of most of the trail to myself.

There’s just cause for the trail to be so busy, it is gorgeous and provides amazing views of the area.  The trail meanders it’s way through large spruce trees up into a plateau covered in glacial moraine.  Once you’ve climbed the 3500 ft to get up there you get to stay up there on a perfectly graded trail around tarns, erratics and crossing a number of streams tumbling from glaciers 50 meters away.

A relatively moderate run with numerous options to lengthen or shorten your distance.  I ran for about 23 km car-to-car and climbed about 3500 ft.   Mid-week recommended…
